The people who annoy us the most is our family. So that is probably the case in a tight knit church, which is okay. We just have to deal with each other. We’re also told to provoke each other into good works.

We all know that family can be the most stubborn. I’m so guilty of that. But by the love we have for each other, the world will know that we are disciples. I pray that I will love the family of believer even though they annoy the crap out of me sometimes. Good post.

The truth is people cannot really hurt you unless you are involved with them in some way. The more involved you are the worst a person can hurt you and the more easily it can happen. There are two approaches. in one you avoid any meaningful entanglement and in the other you take risks and put up with people. Seems like God is calling us to the risky one.

Good post, Nick. This one is sometimes a hard one to break through…

Thanks, it was very hard for me in this instance despite preaching on it Sunday. God has a wicked sense of humor. He likes to have me preach on a given topic then make me live it that week. Next time I preach I’m gonna talk about God sending incredible wealth.

I am glad that you and the other YP have worked things out and can work together.

I’m very glad. Like I said in my comment to you before, I should have talked to him some time ago, but it is hard. Thanks for your prayers, I believe the prayers of many went forward to make this possible despite the plans of the enemy.

It’s great that you have a DYD to help facilitate this stuff. In our non-denominational church, we don’t have that luxury – we have to duke it out on our own. (just kidding, thankful I don’t think that has happened)

Great post – I got something out of this that you probably hadn’t intended (a valid argument for going to church – or whatever organized gathering for fellowship, worship and learning). Fodder for a future post on my blog. Thanks!

Yeah it is nice to have a DYD and other higher ups to help with things like that. Unfortunately not all district types are as helpful, I am blessed (I said fortunate but Christians aren’t supposed to be fortunate because that is lucky which is EVIL).

I also want to say that I did intend the valid argument for going to church.

“To isolate is to win and to be isolated is to lose.”

Yeah, it took me a while to understand what that meant, even with the examples. Great post though – thought provoking (hopefully more).

I’m glad you did get it, I was worried that line might be confusing but I liked the way it read.

Our church recently went through a reconciliation ministry with Peacemakers because of the way our last pastor was… well, fired. In a lot of ways it was really good that we did the reconciliation, but I wish we had done it all sooner, and maybe things wouldn’t have turned out so poorly.

    Such is life. Great post.

PS. I did a little bit of editing to your story on Google Wave, sorry it’s been so stinkin’ long.

Maybe our church should bring in something like that. The pastor hasn’t been fired but it hasn’t stopped a large contingent from trying. Also, cool about the book, I’ve done a bit more writing, but things are starting to get out of order. I need a better program than Word but there doesn’t seem to be anything for Windows designed for writing.
