Beautiful. Has your wife read this? "one of the biggest parts of my life" is the best line in the whole story.

As to the loss of 3 children, I am so sorry. The fact that these are not very recent losses makes little difference. You are correct in saying you have beaten the odds on divorce.

My congratulations to Susan on the second anniversary of her 29th Birthday.
I presume you have something special planned. lol

    Enjoy Her day Kristi

"…we work because God holds us so long as we refuse to let go."

Exactly!! God never told us it would be easy, but that faithfulness endures. So glad to see young 'uns like yourselves endure through the rough spots, hanging on to the most important Love of all.

Happy Birthday, Susan! I pray you'll find that the first anniversary of 29 can be much the same as the 30th one.

I'll let her know you said happy birthday. I keep trying to get her to blog too, but right now she is into Facebook. Blogging doesn't have farmville.

I think farmville might have to be one of those things I don't investigate. Those vegetables just might hold me hostage more than they do in my non-virtual life.

Farmville is from the devil. Seriously. My wife comes home and plays it until her fingers go numb. And then she takes off her shoes and uses her toes. It's not pretty.

Command & Conquer is a much better way to spend your time.

Hi Susan! Thanks for sharing Nick and his geekitude with all of us imaginary friends. I should also probably thank you for putting up with him so that we can enjoy his crazy schemes.

Welcome to blogland. It may not have Farmville, but it's got a nice aroma.

I'll let her know that some blogs have a more pungent aroma than others. Specifically blogs that deal with lots of poo.

I know what you mean. Psychology and Sociology will try to tell us that our behavior is strictly defined by the environment we grew up and live in. Yet, I think of Joseph. With all the crap that happened to him, he never once complained. Nor did he have a bad attitude or ever curse God.

We once went to a "Weekend to Remember" conference headed by Family Life and one of the images I remember is when a married couple got up on the stage holding a rope, and the speaker said, "Every time I cut the rope, that represents a conflict in the marriage." So he would cut here and there, but after each cut, tie it back together where ever he cut it. By the end the husband and wife were standing next to each other because the tied knots brought them closer together.

Anyways, good post and I'll see you on over at SCL.

That is a really cool analogy. I'll have to remember it. We haven't been on a marriage weekend in a while, but I'm planning one for next year. I want to do a Marriage Encounter weekend but I'll look into the Weekend to Remember stuff.
