Now by Fireflight

I recently purchased Now, the newest CD from Fireflight. I first started listening to Fireflight about 4 years ago when I got the "Unbreakable" single in a demo CD before the Unbreakable album came out. If you haven't heard of them, Fireflight is a Christian Rock band with a female lead vocalist. They have a pretty unique sound. Dawn Michele, the lead singer, has a high, but very clear voice. My biggest frustration when working with youth is investing tons of my life into them, trying to teach them, hoping I can keep them from messing up like I have and like my friends have; only to have them often ignore me so that I have to deal with the fall out. Then I take a step back and remember how much God invests in all of us, myself included, only to be rejected and have to deal with our fall out, but He loves me anyway.

Music: The Gateway to the Mind

I think most of the Western world, if not the entire world, is aware of the saying, "the fastest way to a man's heart is through his stomach." If I'm being to Americentric in my assumptions then let me briefly explain. Men like good food and will happily fall in love with a good cook. This might be over simplifying things, but that is the essence of most cliches. It doesn't refute the truths behind the concept though. Groove This

Yeah so I am just all over the place right now. Fridays I was trying to bring a little more geek, but sadly I started a new series last week instead of the geek because I'm feeling lazy. Making an impact

I don't have much to say about last night. We had a good time but I really need to get our new united worship band in place. We are shooting for mid June and the guy that has been playing lead guitar for me just hasn't been "feeling it" lately. Very frustrating. We haven't had worship the past 3 weeks so I tried something different expecting the "not feeling it tonight" response from this guy. I took my Kutless CD down and played some songs that we sing during worship off it. I actually had them asking for more so that was good.
