I’m really excited to announce I’m speaking at WCDC 2017!!!
Hey folks, I don’t think I’ve come out and said where I’m youth pastor at before. It is First Assembly of God in Front Royal, VA. This is in Warren County right beside the Warren Memorial hospital. I’ve been working hard on the church Web site the past year or so and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Give it a peek.
I am very glad to be a full time YP, that gives me time to make up my own graphics and such for the series I run, but I’m all about getting a head start on the work I do too. Back when I very first started, and had much less skill, I found a terrific resource called “Vine Resources.” They changed their site name and URI to Stuff I Can Use, but still offer tons of free graphics you can use for your sermons. They may not have exactly what you want every time, but they do make everything they have available for free. You have to click through to check this resource out.
I am participating in a new series, God Says …, over at Make a Difference to One. In my first post I address the lie that I am unloved and show that God says I am loved. Click through for the article.
Got some new shoes yesterday. The Vibram 5 Finger KSO. If yo don’t know about them, they have a more glove like construction. Each toe has it’s own little home, and the sole is pretty thin and conformed to be more like bare feet. All in all it doesn’t feel like I have shoes on, they are actually less noticeable than socks, well maybe not the really low profile socks. In any case, I’m hoping they help ease foot discomfort at camp. Click through for details.
Today is the start of the last round of guest writers in the Who is God series. Jay Cookingham takes on the challenge of explaining God’s forgiving nature, which works well against the post I previously wrote on God’s Justice. Be Sure to click through for the full article on Make a Difference to One.
Today is my third post in the “Who is God” series on Make a Difference to One. I’m explaining “Spirit” and how we can use simple analogies that are fun for kids to explain a very complex concept. Click through for the full article.
A few days ago I posted about the plugins I’m using on the blog. Many blogs I’ve worked on have 20, 30, 40, or more plugins. This can cause big time slow downs and potential conflicts. A lot of simple things can be done with a few lines of code in the theme. I wrote about how I added my tweet button and made it add hashtags automatically on my Design Blog.
