Sick and tired of throwing Jesus under the bus to support my cause

I'd say "Jesus doesn't want you to use his name to support your cause" but guess what? That's doing exactly what I said not to do. It's messed up though. "Jesus would feed the hungry so you need to do what I say because I'm starting a soup kitchen." "Jesus talked about hell so that is the most important thing." I try to avoid politics on this blog. I have made very few political comments and most of those few are highly sarcastic even if rooted in my true feelings.
