Nick, the Geek, Croft has been developing with WordPress for over a decade. Today he is a lead developer for Reaktiv Studios, a WordPress VIP Partner. He has created several plugins for WordPress.org, primarily using the Genesis framework, and custom work for clients and his employer. Nick is the author of Genesis Explained, a book that focuses on the Genesis theme framework. He has completed his Web Accessibility Specialists (WAS), Certified Professional In Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA), and 508 Trusted Tester certifications. Lately, Nick has focused on writing highly efficient code, automating all the things, and improving skills in Javascript, React, security, and accessibility. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, four children, and a puppy and lives on a quiet cul de sac in the Shenandoah Valley. He also enjoys home improvement projects, hiking, and river activities.

Nick started web development way back in the earliest days before CSS even existed. He survived Geocities, blink, and many other design atrocities.
In the years since, Nick has stayed on the cutting edge of development with both WordPress, HTML, Javascript, and CSS.

Along with over 2 decades of development experience, Nick has spoken at many events including WordPress Meetups and Camps as well as Accessibility Conferences.
Nick was also a youth and associate pastor for 14 years with weekly speaking opportunities.

Nick has multiple accessibility certifications and conducts regular accessibility audits. He works to stay on the cutting edge of all things accessibility.
This was a passion for many years, but after tragedy struck resulting in the disability of one of his children, Nick has only increased in his passion to make the world more accessible.
He brings this passion to presentations to make audiences excited about changing this world for the better.
