I actually want to make a couple of video segments. That is an end goal of mine. for announcements and the "what we talked about last week" part of the sermon. I'm calling the review segment "rewind." I want to record the service and interview a couple of students then do this fun rewind seqment with the weird noise and all then play segments and fast forward to other segments in a 2 minute or so clip. I also want to do a clip called "fast forward" for when we skip to other topics or sections of scripture when we are covering a book.

I'll admit that heaping coals of fire does come to mind, but I really do hope his heart is softened. He needs to find God's love or risk the fire of Hell. His unforgiveness does not boad well for his soul

One way that helped some of our youth get more involved when I was in youth group was to allow them to make videos for the announcements. Surely there's one kid in there that wants to be a filmmaker... There's one in every crowd that hasn't gotten his dreams crushed by the weight of sheer criticism... Anywho, keep it up with that old curmudgeon! Burning coals and all that jazz.

I found your story about the old man amusing. A long time ago, I worked with a woman who was very mean to me. Well, her car got stuck in the alley (baaaaad Chicago winter), and she had to take a bus to work. Sprained her ankle on the way. The Holy Spirit (I'm sure it was He, because I certainly didn't want to do it, and my conscience knew I didn't owe her anything after how she treated me.....) kept telling me all day to offer her a ride home, and then to pick her up and take her home daily until she was okay. I argued with the Holy Spirit all day. I know, I know, I should have done it out of love for Him, but my pride got in my way. Finally the Holy Spirit reminded me of Romans 12:20 and I said "heaping burning coals on her head I can do!" and ran to offer her a ride. I did drive her every day while she was injured. Believe it or not, her heart softened... I hope grumpy old man's heart will be softened.
