Broken People Helping Broken People
Posted on 03. May, 2010 by Nick the Geek in All, Youth Pastor
I am a broken person. It might look like I have it together on the outside, but on the inside I’m totally broken.
The thing is, I have a lot of people looking to me for the answers. It is tempting to try and put on a facade, to make it seem like I’m great. It would be nice if I had the answers, it would be nice if I could keep the juggling act going so that everyone would think I had the answers.
I don’t have it all together. I don’t have the answers. I don’t even know all the questions. I can’t keep juggling things because eventually everything comes crashing down.
Do you want to know the crazy part? Broken people don’t want perfect people to help them. The want real people and the only perfect people are far from real.
I’ve been crazy busy so I haven’t had time to share everything that is going on. I am going to be sharing a lot about some things. I have been hearing the hearts of several of my students lately and they are hurting, but God is really working in their lives too. I want to get permission to share some of their stories. Not the whole thing, and certainly not enough to identify them, but enough to show the pain and also the glory of God’s grace.
I am amazed at the power of His love to really change hearts. He is good and His love is overwhelming.

And can you believe something, I wasn’t signed up for your RSS! I feel so bad. All you’ve done for me, the least I can do is be a part of your life.
And you write very well.

I’m completely with you bro.
I decided long ago that I would not hide the reality of my life but rather would would live it out in the open and allow God to be glorified through what he did with me and through me.
